Workplace Safety Training and Regulatory Compliance In industry, business, and government workplace safety programs are based on one of three principles: Regulatory Compliance, Monetary Savings, or Ethics. Those whose programs are based on regulatory compliance are concerned with avoiding fines and citations and base their safety decisions solely upon existing safety regulations. Those whose programs are based on monetary savings are concerned with reducing their cost from employee injury, illness, and death. Those whose programs are based on ethics are concerned with doing whatever is necessary to provide a safe workplace. A Christian employer should certainly fall into the latter category. One purpose of Christian Solutions is to help Christian Ministries provide a safe workplace for their employees and deal with government safety regulations. We offer an unbiased and professional understanding of government safety regulatory agencies, how best to work with them, and how to truly provide a safe workplace for your employees. Christian Solutions endeavors to be an advocate for Christian Ministries by providing a realistic view of safety regulations and of employer responsibility and liability, within the broader framework of workplace safety. Our goals are to help nonprofit tax exempt ministries avoid having to expend funds for profit oriented safety training and consulting firms. We desire to help these ministries to conserve their funds for their primary function while still providing a safe workplace and complying with government regulations. We do not desire to permanently take the place of safety consulting and training firms that you may have been utilizing. Our plan is to teach you to fish rather than continually give you fish. We will initially provide whatever safety training and consulting services you need but we want to simultaneously train someone on your staff to provide these services so you eventually no longer need our help. We will then give you a cost figure much less than those on the NASP website. Living Safe in a Dangerous World We live in a dangerous country in a dangerous world. Violence is so prevalent in our society that it has supplanted all other hazards in the workplace to become the number one killer of women in the workplace. Imagine that. More women are murdered at work than are killed by workplace accidents. Christian Solutions offers a course titled "Violence Prevention, Management, and Survival". This course is an action packed, hands-on, 8 hour comprehensive course for employees that addresses the full range of safety/security issues including three primary modules we call "StreetWise", "SafeTravel", and "WorkSafe". These modules include personal safety/security measures including how not to be a victim; surviving violence at work, at home, and in public; physical self defense methods and limitations; aggressive self defense; passive self defense; weapons of self defense; and conflict resolution and mediation. Specific scenarios include workplace incidents, travel safety, kidnapping, robbery, home invasion, sexual assault, domestic violence, bomb threats, suspicious mail and packages, chemical hazards, biological hazards, crimes in progress, fire, weather, building collapse, temporary loss of infrastructure, child proofing your home, and weapons in the home. Graduates of this course experience a renewed sense of personal safety and security at work, at home, and in public. They are prepared to mitigate violence in the workplace and to diminish the terrorism induced fear of daily life for their family and friends.
